Policies are sets of defined settings that are automatically applied by the Agent installed on a specific machine. The Agent periodically verifies that the policy settings and the settings of the particular machine are identical. If not, the Agent reconciles them so that they are compatible with the assigned policy. Each policy has its own name. In addition, policies are divided into different types which are distinguished by the subject of the settings they regulate. Policies of different types are clearly separated from each other, i.e. they are not displayed in the same list and their previews are available in separate tabs. In each policy type, there is a so-called default policy (which is automatically indicated in each newly created profile). The default policy cannot be deleted. The configuration and management of policies, i.e. viewing, adding, editing, deleting policies (the default policy cannot be removed) or indicating which policy is to be the default one, are only available to the administrator with the appropriate rights.

 

To display the policy configuration panel:

1.In the nVision console, click the Tools tab.

2.Click the Manage button.

3.In the drop-down list, click the Manage policies button.
