Global Browser |
Searching for a specific piece of information from a number of datasets, e.g. Users, Resources, Maps, Devices, Documents, etc., has been quite onerous so far, since to find an object you should first have accessed a window with the relevant list and then filtered it. This inconvenience has been eliminated by the introduction of the global browser which is used to search multiple datasets in one place. This global browser is located at the top of the console, above the menu bar. The global browser is always available in the main window of the nVision console and its display is not affected by the currently viewed bookmark.
To use the global browser: 1.Click in the search box and enter the keywords/property names to be searched (the search starts with at least 3 characters in the search box). 2.Double-click the object that appears in the list and you will be taken to the appropriate tab. For instance, when you click the user’s name, the account window for this user appears.
Global browser rules The global browser works according to the following rules: 1.Search results are not case-sensitive. 2.The global browser ignores Polish characters (ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż); for instance, if you want to search for a user named Mączyński, you can enter both “Mączyński” and “Maczynski” in the global browser. The search result will be the same. 3.The global browser also finds the search item when the string entered in the search box occurs in some of the items being searched; for instance, when you type “Print”, the list of search results may include “Printer”. 4.The global browser does not recognize any special characters such as a space, an asterisk (‘*’), quotation marks (‘"’), or a question mark (‘?’). Any non-alphanumeric characters are considered as part of the search term by the global browser.
