Windows Defender

Axence nVision® version 13 introduces the Windows Defender antivirus software control feature. This feature is available for computers with Windows 7 operating system or later.

To view the Windows Defender information on a particular device:

1.In the nVision console, click the Devices tab.

2.Click the Security tab.

3.Double-click the line with the selected device.

4.In the Device Info window, click the Security tab.

5.Click the Windows Defender.

The Windows Defender tab displays the following parameters:

•Real-time security

•Security from the cloud

•Automatic sample transfer

•Security against infringement

•Last scan

•Definition date

•Definition version

In addition, a list of threats detected by the antivirus software is displayed below.

Windows Defender - remote actions

The nVision console allows for remote interaction with Windows Defender on a machine which has the Agent installed. The available actions are as follows:

•Definition update

•Fast scan

•Full scan

To perform one of the above actions:

1.In the nVision console, click the Devices tab.

2.Click the Security tab.

3.Right-click the line with the specific device.

4.Select Windows Defender from the list, and then click one of the three actions.

Once the selected action is executed, the parameters that are displayed in the list, i.e. last scan date, definition date and definition version, will be updated.

You can create a policy to provide better control of the antivirus software.
