The Inventory module gained the power from relations - between assets, an asset and user, user group or license. Freely create and describe relations both one- and two-way. What power will this function give you? You will connect assets to both the people who use it and those who manage it and are responsible for servicing it. You will create a computer set - linking the device to its individual components. You'll link primary assets to supporting assets, and in the event of a critical server failure, you'll be able to determine which key information is associated with it - a feature that supports the risk and incident analysis required by NIS2.</li><li>News in HelpDesk module. In the remote connection, we have introduced the image of all screens (and their spatial layout!) already at the time of monitor selection. Moreover, the chat in HelpDesk achieved new level with the power to seamlessly embed images and attachments directly into messages.</li><li>Functions which can help help to meet the requirements of the whistleblowers directive. What functions specifically? New powers in your IT - meet nVision 16!

<p>A new version of Axence nVision<sup>®</sup> will be released on December 3. This is the 16th version of the software valued by administrators around the world for managing networks and IT infrastructure. nVision 16 is a tool strengthened with the novelties expected by the market, which will further simplify and improve the work of every IT expert.</p><p>Starting with nVision 16, the Freemium license (Network module monitoring network + other modules up to 10 workstations) will be replaced by a 30-day trial, which will allow you to experience the full capabilities of our software. The trial will give you the opportunity to install as many as 50 agents and test all nVision functions without restrictions.</p><p>It is worth taking the opportunity to test the new version of nVision, because the software gains real superpowers in this version, which will be very useful in everyday work.       <p><em data-renderer-mark="true">Nearly 160 participants and 5 hours of hands-on knowledge - that’s the outcome of our brand-new event that we held for Bulgarian private and public sectors. On top of that, we are happy to find out that in our after-event survey, 96% of you said that you were very satisfied with the quality of the presentations. For those of you who couldn’t make it this time, we have prepared a short recap of our event.</em></p>
<p data-renderer-start-pos="470">CyberSec Day is an event for IT management and cybersecurity which was held by Axence in October as a part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month celebrations. Our goal was to share the best practices on IT security, compliance, and business continuity, tap into the expertise of IT management leaders and learn the latest tactics and methods of protection to secure the IT environment. We wanted to assist our audience in discovering solutions and services that support the successful and secure management of IT networks and stay tuned with the current trends.&nbsp;</p>

<p data-renderer-start-pos="1029">The event started with the&nbsp;<strong data-renderer-mark="true">Opening Speech</strong>&nbsp;delivered by Miglen Evlogiev - the founder of the Bulgarian Cybersecurity Foundation. According to the expert, most data breaches are the result of phishing. One of the innovations in phishing in the last two or three years is a browser-in-the-browser attack in which JavaScript is used to pop up a window that looks exactly like the login screen with a username and password on a legitimate popular website. He also pointed out that phishing campaign simulations are the best way to train employees.</p>

<p data-renderer-start-pos="1029">The Opening Speech was followed by the&nbsp;<strong data-renderer-mark="true">Discussion Panel</strong>, moderated by Svetlin Iliev from Bulgarian Cybersecurity Association. The experts discussed the current state of IT security, products, legislation, certification schemes, etc. Pavel Georgiev who is the Founder of Cyber Security Talks Bulgaria - an initiative that is holding monthly cybersecurity-themed events and it is building a community of professionals, hacktivists, tech enthusiasts, government representatives, and many more, stated that the advantage of communities is that people belong to a community because they want to.</p>

<p data-renderer-start-pos="2795">The only female expert in the Discussion, Jenny Boneva shared a few very interesting takeaways. She claimed that establishing cybersecurity frameworks is the key part of establishing protection for organizations. She also pointed out that organizations are well-aware about the cybersecurity standards and best practices, however, customizing them is now the most challenging part. The reason for that is that information security is sometimes against the performance so it is important to balance those two functions.</p>
<p data-renderer-start-pos="3315">The experience shared by Vladimir Dimitrov, representing the Bulgarian Cybercrime Unit, particularly caught the attention of the participants of the event. He mentioned some real-life cases from his everyday work and how he and his coworkers are dealing with cyber crimes.</p>
<p data-renderer-start-pos="3589">Jasen Tanev, on the other hand, was supporting the view that building cyber awareness early on is key for ensuring cybersecurity. In this respect, universities play an important role.</p>
<p data-renderer-start-pos="3774"><strong data-renderer-mark="true">IT Management and Security Module</strong>&nbsp;was inaugurated by Marcin Matuszewski, Senior IT Engineer at Axence. He strongly encouraged organizations to create their cybersecurity checklist. Since, it is yet difficult for businesses to completely anticipate and eliminate imminent cyber threats, having a solid cybersecurity checklist might come in handy to strengthen IT networks. This list should include such areas as critical infrastructure monitoring, asset inventory, user monitoring, etc.</p>

      <h2>Fear of threats related to employee malevolence is growing in large companies. How to monitor people’s activity wisely in the security service?</h2>

      <h2>Monitoring? Do not mistake it for surveillance</h2>
<p>Many employees openly show their resentment toward the management and the IT department, when the employer considers the implementation of employee activity monitoring software. They believe it is proof of a lack of trust and that it will lead to constant surveillance. Those Orwellian visions are the result of inadequate education of the staff. Monitoring solutions are aimed to strengthen the corporate security chain and this needs to be explained to the employees in detail. How to approach such conversation? What monitoring policy should be adopted?</p>
<p>Let’s not assume in advance that each employee is a potential threat. However, each group includes some black sheep who, by their actions, can incite significant financial losses, loss of company goodwill or even the fall of the company. Therefore, the detection of malevolent actions should be a common goal for all employees. If an employee has a clean conscience, there is nothing he or she should worry about. Wise usage of monitoring tools is based on responding to incidents, not tracking of every click. Another argument for the implementation of such solutions is the growing number of threats based on social manipulation, such as spear phishing. An employee might be unaware that by clicking on a link or downloading an attachment, he or she contributed to a critical data leak or infection of the corporate network with a dangerous virus. Thanks to the monitoring tools, the administrators can quickly respond to such an attack attempt. The above policy and rhetoric should be applied by all management boards and IT departments – comments Marcin Matuszewski, Technical Support Engineer at Axence.</p>
<h2>Companies are more and more aware</h2>
<p>Large companies and corporations show the highest awareness of the losses which might occur from the unauthorized actions of their employees. The IT decision makers participating in the <a title="Orange Insights: IT Security eye of large companies and corporations" href="https://goo.gl/6h7Qam" target="_blank">Orange Insights</a> survey indicated that employee malevolence is the second worst threat to network security – right after the attack of cyber criminals. This answer was chosen by 52% of people taking part in the survey (for comparison, hacking attacks were quoted by 53%). In these companies the expenses born in relation to IT security, including network users’ activity monitoring tools, are constantly growing.</p>
<h2>What solution should you choose?</h2>
<p>When considering the choice of software for user activity monitoring, pay attention to the function allowing for the documentation of malevolent practices by an employee. If it is suspected that a person could be working to the detriment of the company, the administrator should be able to take screenshots (to catch the culprit red handed), to view the history of edited documents and visited websites and programs which have been run on the employee’s workstation. Evidence for the intended leak of strategic data can be also found in e-mail. The software should allow the monitoring of the names and sizes of sent attachments and the headers of sent e-mail messages.
